    Kelly from KY Asked

My 3yo daughter does not love fireworks at all. Any suggestions of activities to take advantage of evening hours without the noise at MK?

Hi Kelly! It is hard to avoid evening hours in the parks without having some affect from the beautiful firework shows. There are a few things to consider when in the Magic Kingdom that might help.

First of all consider getting a comfortable headphone set for your daughter. Diminishing the noise might be very helpful as it is often impossible to avoid the fireworks completely while walking through the park.
Check the Times Guide when you enter the park to see the exact time of the fireworks. If you plan to remain in the park then consider being ready to enjoy one of the indoor attractions. Philharmagic, Haunted Mansion, Laugh Company, Tiki Birds, Carrousel of Progress, and Country Bear Jamboree come to mind as some possibilities where you can spend much of the time inside and away from the noise. You can also be in line for some of the character meet and greets that are indoors such as the princesses and Mickey Mouse. Even going into the shops will help cut back the sound but it is hard to completely block it out.

There is also a Baby Center in the Magic Kingdom were you can find a somewhat quiet atmosphere during the fireworks. There will be chairs and activity rooms where your daughter can rest or perhaps color. Mom and Dad can even take turns going outside to watch the show as it is located just off the castle hub near Casey's restaurant.

Hope this gives you some options which you can consider. It is hard to completely avoid noises but being prepared is the best way to approach a child's fear and not push them into an uncomfortable situation that might ruin a perfect day.
