Hi, my daughter will be 5 next year when we go to Disney World (her first time). She is quite timid and doesn't like spiders etc. Will halloween be too scary for her or should we wait for the christmas decs? Whats the weather like in Nov ok for swims?

Hi, Zoe!  I have a child who was afraid of her own shadow until she was a teenager, and she loved Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party!  The big thing to remember is that it really isn't very scary, and the things I thought she might be afraid of, we skipped.

The parade opens with the headless horseman, and I think my oldest was probably ten before she wanted to see that.  The rest of the night is just fun, trick or treating, and riding all your favorite Magic Kingdom attractions.

Having said that, we also really enjoy Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party.  Nothing scary there, but still the same great time, with holiday treats and lots of holiday themed shows and a parade.  I don't know if we like one better than the other, but if there are concerns about your daughter having a good time, this might be the better option for your family.

We definitely swim in November.  Temperatures are usually in the 70s during the day, and you'll find the pools heated in most cases.  Bring your trunks!

    Have a great vacation!
