My daughter keeps talking about these coins that you collect in Disney World, she has said that her friend has hundreds? What is this all about? She is 7 by the way...

    Hi Dahna:

Thanks for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Aren't kids funny?  My daughter is the same way, once she has an idea in her head she will not stop talking about it!  From what it sounds like, your daughter's friend collects pressed pennies.  They are very popular at Walt Disney World Resort and can be found all over Disney Property.  The machines have different designs that are unique to the area (resort or theme park) that you can choose to press onto your penny.  Once you choose your design and pay (51 cents) you turn a handle that flattens the penny and when it is done, the design is transferred onto your penny.  Collecting pressed pennies is a great idea for a souvenir, they are relatively inexpensive (as long as you don't collect hundreds of them) and are fun to find!

I hope that helps Dahna.  Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, I would love to hear from you again.
