My daughter and I are going to Hollywood Studios and I was wanting to know what restrictions there are on coolers and food that can be brought into the parkl

    Dear Julie,

How flattering to find a question directly sent to me! Thank you for allowing us to help you with your vacation planning! You have come to the right place.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite parks (well, they all are!) as it is home to For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, my two favorite attractions in the entire Walt Disney World Resort. And now, with Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opening in August, it will surely be at the top of my priority list! I cannot tell you how excited I am this new land is opening so soon!

You can certainly bring your own food and drinks to enjoy at the parks, except for alcoholic beverages. Please, be aware that the food you bring cannot be in glass containers. I always bring a couple of snacks for myself and my kids as well as water or soda. I don't know if you have a resort reservation yet but please keep in mind that some resorts have kitchenettes or full kitchens in them such as Disney's All-Star Music Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort (kitchenette available in their family suite). The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort as well as all of the rooms at Deluxe Villas hotels will have either a kitchenette or a full kitchen.

Coolers with or without wheels larger than 24" x 15" wide x 18" high are not allowed in any theme park or water park. Also, loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers or in any bag. If you would like to keep your drinks or food cold, you may bring reusable ice-packs and also keep in mind that cups of ice are available at no charge at Food & Beverage locations.

Some of these are reviewed rules that recently went into effect in order to improve guest flow and make everyone's experience at the parks more enjoyable. If you are like me, you may want to click on this link to read the updated list of rules to be observed while at the Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope this information answers your question, Julie. Please come back with more and more questions; Disney is our passion and we truly love to help!

Have a marvelous trip with your daughter!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
