Our daughter is 3 and we are debating getting the dining plan. We want to do mostly buffet character meals for our TS, but we know that she won't eat much. If I understand the ages correctly, she will get charged for a meal at a buffet, right?

    Hi Danielle,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am thrilled to hear that you are considering a dining plan. We have done the Disney Dining and Disney Deluxe Dining Plans.

If you purchase a dining plan, your daughter will be considered a child on the dining plan. If you dine at character meals or other buffets without a dining plan, you would need to pay for her dining experience. Character meals are truly an experience. Our girls still adore dining with their favorite characters. When they were younger, they were just in awe. They were so excited to get their autograph books signed.

Now that our girls are older and charged as adults for meals, we appreciate the dining plans even more. I am so glad we started doing the dining plans when they were younger because now we have a good sense of the value for us. We dine like royalty on the Disney Deluxe Dining plan. On this plan, we do at least two signature meals. Two of our favorites are Cinderella's Royal Table and California Grill

While your daughter is younger, I suggest taking advantage of a dining plan and using it to enjoy some of the spectacular restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort. Others that our girls love are Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, The Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine. There are also a host of other great restaurants at Disney Springs.

Danielle, I am sending pixie dust your way as you make the best plans for your 3-year old!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
