I have a daughter with cognitive disabilities. I have an idea on how the DAS works but how about the rider switch? I'm not sure exactly how that works or what we need in order to provide it for our daughter.

    Hi Emily,

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As a mom of a child with cognitive disabilities myself, I'm happy to help you figure out some of the services Disney provides to make sure every guest has a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

The Disability Access Service will be helpful for attractions your daughter would like to experience with you while Rider Switch will come in handy if there is an attraction your daughter does not wish to experience. All you need to do is speak with a Cast Member at the attraction entrance and ask if they offer Rider Switch. If they do, most of your party can enjoy the attraction while one adult waits with your daughter. Once the first party has ridden the attraction, the adult who stayed with your daughter and one other Guest may use the Rider Switch Pass and skip the standby line by entering the FastPass+ line to experience the attraction.

These services are so helpful to families traveling with guests with special needs! Don't forget that you are still able to use the regular FastPass+ service as well, so be sure to make up to three selections per day beginning 60 days before your arrival if you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel, and 30 days in advance if you're staying elsewhere.

I hope you and your family have a truly magical vacation, Emily! Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!
