My daughter has Autism. I've taken her to Disneyland but she didn't do very good in the lines is there a way to get a fast pass for her? I am thinking to get an annual pass for her. would i need to take a letter from the doctor? Thanks

    Hi there Alma,

Thank you for writing us your question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope you are having a magical day.

I have a son on the Autism Spectrum as well, so I understand your concern about making sure your daughter is enjoying her time in the parks and her needs are met. I have found that the Disney Parks are very accommodating to families with Cognitive Disabilities, here is a helpful link on it. I do suggest visiting City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park and speaking to a Cast Member about your daughter’s special needs. We have utilized the Disability Access Service Card when in the parks and this has helped.

The Disability Access Service (DAS) Card is designed to accommodate Guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to disability (including non-apparent disabilities). You visit the main entrance Guest Relations to discuss your child's special needs and concerns with the Cast Member to see if the DAS Card would benefit your child's needs. Their photo will be taken for the issued card. You will not need to provide any paperwork to the Cast Member in order to receive a DAS Card. The Cast Member will go over the terms and conditions with you and have you sign the DAS Card.

The DAS Card is not the same as a FASTPASS in that there is not a window return time so there isn't pressure to make it back in a certain period. You can only access one DAS Card return time for one attraction at a time. While waiting for your DAS return time, you are welcome to grab a magical snack, enjoy a show, or watch a parade.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any more questions, please write me back on how I can help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
