Mom and daughter on Expedition Everest

My daughter has autism and is an extremely picky eater. The only 'resteraunt' foods she eats are chicken nuggets, cheese cubes and cut apples. Normally we bring special food for her from home. Can we do that for sit down meals like Cinderella's castle?

Hi, Paula!  The first thing I would suggest is that you make sure your dining reservations indicate you have special dietary needs.  Even if the issues aren't allergies, it's good to have the restaurants on notice, so they are aware that an accommodation has to be made.  You can ask them to note that there are only certain foods your daughter can eat.

When you arrive at the restaurant, let them know what her menu consists of.  They normally will do their very best to accommodate the requirements.  Most restaurants should have something.  Cinderella's Royal Table, for example, has bite sized cheddar cheese and chicken nuggets on the kids menu.

If you have other character meals, you may find that the manager of the restaurant can use his discretion and perhaps charge only an entertainment fee while you bring food in.  I think you will find, however, that most restaurants at Walt Disney World will be able to offer you some accommodation.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
