    Trisha from NE Asked

My daughter and I will be arriving late in the day (plane lands at 8pm). We think we will be too excited to sleep-suggestions of things to do? I know she would love the dueling pianos at boardwalk but I think she may be too young to get in? She is 13.

Hello, Trisha! I know exactly what you mean about being too excited to sleep. That still happens to me every single time before a Walt Disney World vacation. The dueling piano bar on the BoardWalk is called Jellyrolls, and it only serves patrons 21 and older. While your daughter may be too young for that experience just now, there are so many other things that you can do to indulge your excitement. Keep in mind that if you are taking advantage of Disney's Magical Express, once your plane lands you should plan anywhere from 45-70 minutes of travel time to reach your Resort Hotel if staying on property.

If you aren't planning on going straight to a park on arrival night, Downtown Disney is a great spot to spend the evening. Goofy's Candy Company has some amazing Disney-themed treats. I love the Create-Your-Own-Treat station where you can put together your own delectable chocolatey dessert. There are also many awesome shops that you can browse. Something that you two might love is taking some time to enjoy Splitsville Luxury Lanes. It has two floors of bowling alleys along with live music and great food.

You didn't mention what date you are arriving, but sometimes the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is held at 10:00pm. The time varies by day, but if it is scheduled for 10:00pm on your arrival night you might be able to hop over to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to watch the fireworks from the white sand beach. It would be a magical, yet relaxing way kick off your vacation as well as prepare for a full day of park touring.

If you need any other ideas, please feel free to stop back in. We'd love to help in any way that we can. Have a magical day!
