Our daugher will be celebrating her third birthday in Disney in September. This is our first disney vacation. We are spending the day in Magic Kingdom! What is a must do for her special day? We have Character Dinning and Bibb Bobby Boutique already booked.

    Hello Damien!

I think you have an awesome start a fabulous birthday for your little one.  The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is such a fantastic experience, she is going to have so much fun.  Be sure to pick  up a "Happy Birthday" button when you check in to the resort or when you arrive at Magic Kingdom.  They will put her name on it and she will get many birthday wishes from Cast Members and Guests alike.  When you check in to the restaurant you are dining at, be sure to tell the Cast Member checking you in that you are celebrating. Your daughter will most likely receive a complementary cupcake after she eats with a candle to make a wish on.  At that age, my daughter loved Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom (and still does) so I would concentrate on that area.  Ride the Prince Charming Regal Carousel and find Cinderella's special horse. - the one with the gold ribbon on the tail.  Take a spin at the Mad Tea Party, soar to the sky on Dumbo the Flying Elephant  and make your FastPass+ selections to meet the Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall.  All of this will ensure big smiles and lots of giggles for the birthday girl  Whatever you do, don't try to squeeze too much into this day.  It's easy to do at Walt Disney World but I know from experience it's better to plan less on a birthday and then go from there.  On special days, I like to select 5 must do's and do those first.  After that, when my daughter was little, I used to take my cues from her.  If I thought she seemed tired, we may go back to the room for a nap and a swim which was just as fun for her as being at the parks.  If I thought she was full of pep, we'd stay for the afternoon parade and share some popcorn and an ice cream cone while we waited.  After the must do's we played it by ear so there wasn't any disappointment on the day.

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
