What are the dates for Christmas activities at the Disney World Parks?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jay!

The holiday season is my favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort. My husband and I went on a December honeymoon several years ago and the magic hooked us so much that we've been back at Christmas almost every year since. The beautiful decorations and the seasonal music and smells that fill the air really add that extra layer of magic to what is already a magical vacation.

The Christmas season happens in phases at Walt Disney World Resort, and you'll start to see gorgeous holiday touches in Magic Kingdom Park in the first week of November as preparations begin for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which kicks off on November 8 this year and runs through December 22. After that, Christmas trees and decorations will start going up at each of the four theme parks and all of the Resort Hotels, and I find that the entirety of Walt Disney World Resort is usually fully in the holiday spirit by Thanksgiving. This year, Disney's Animal Kingdom is debuting some brand new holiday decorations, and I can't wait to see what they've got in store for us!

The day after Thanksgiving, Epcot joins the fun with the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. You'll get to take part in the holiday traditions of the 11 countries of World Showcase, including my favorite tradition: the delicious food! Candlelight Processional also begins on November 29 this year, and it's one of my favorite events each Christmas season. Some incredible celebrity narrators are back this year, including an all-time guest favorite, Neil Patrick Harris! The Festival will run through December 30, so there's plenty of time to squeeze in some extra holiday magic before the end of the year. Just like they went up gradually, the Christmas decorations will also come down in phases and will usually be fully gone by the second week in January, with the theme park Christmas trees typically being the last thing to go.

    Have a magical day, Jay!
