Darcie, we plan to bring portable spray fans and spray mists. Another must are backpacks with essentials... Is there any suggestions that you can provide (4 children - one 18 month old with DS) for the extreme humidity in August? ~ Diana

The spray fans and mists are an excellent idea; we always include those in our suitcases as well.  Of course you're going to need a boatload of sunscreen.  I've been using the spray on kind lately and have found it to be very convenient and effective.  The little sticks that you can buy work great for little faces too.

I think visors are great for the parks because they keep the sun out of your face, but they let heat escape through your head.  I've found that a simple package of baby wipes can be used for a very refreshing wipe-down in the late afternoon when sweat gets the better of you.  I'd also recommend trying to allow time for meals and shows in air-conditioned buildings during the hottest part of the day if you will be at the parks.  I'm hoping that you'll take my earlier advice though and plan for naps in the afternoon hours and that will really help to recharge and refresh you.

The humidity certainly isn't pleasant, but I've never found it to be oppressive.  Of course, I'm from Arizona and I'm used to heat.  When my family from California comes along to WDW with us they can hardly stand the weather.  I'm hoping that, being from Texas, you are somewhat prepared for the heat and humidity that you're sure to encounter in Orlando in August!  Good luck.
