Hello Moms and Dads, My wife and I just booked our first disney vacation for 3/1/09-3/7/09 and was wondering how the crowds were this time of year? Also is there a lot of activites for a 1 year old? Thanks

    Zebulun:

Disney considers the first week of March as their "Peak" season, so that may tell you a little about how they feel about supply and demand not to mention crowds....however, it's a little early for those who are headed down for Spring Break, so you should probably only see moderate crowds.

As for your 1-year-old: you can find LOTS to do! Some of our favorites when we had little ones:

Magic Kingdom: Hands Down, the most friendly park for your little one. You'll want to camp out in Mickey's Toontown and Fantasyland. You'll find lots of bright colors at the attractions along with happy music. Specifically, Mickey's Philharmagic and the carousel are favorites. The new Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It Street Party may also be an eye-catching memory maker for the whole family!

Disney Studios: Playhouse Disney features cartoon favorites from Mickey's Clubhouse. Our son loved the bubbles that dropped from the ceiling as much as the life-size Mickey!

Animal Kingdom: Dinoland sports several attractions for your toddler. TriceraTops Spin, similar to Dumbo, lifts you above the crowd to the tree tops. There is also a playground nearby that provides some climbing fun, mainly for older preschoolers, but worth a visit depending on his/her motorskills.

I've only skimmed the top, so you may want to check out the new Celebration Customization section of the www.disneyworld.com site here! And click on the First Visit box!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
