Hi Moms & Dads! Does the Copper Creek Deluxe studio mini fridge have a freezer compartment large enough to hold ice packs? Thanks so much!

    Hey, Mary!

I am absolutely in love with the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. We added this resort as a home resort last year, and had the most amazing Christmas vacation there. My son-in-law could not get over how incredibly themed it was to resemble the Pacific Northwest, and it really feels like two vacations in one. You get to enjoy a rustic wilderness retreat right there in the middle of the Sunshine State.

The Deluxe Studios, which you can book with a walk-in shower, do have a small refrigerator in the kitchenette area. There is not a freezer compartment in these dorm-sized refrigerators, so you won't be able to keep ice packs icy. You can turn the temperature way down in the fridge, and you may find anything stored in the very top gets a bit icy, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

As an alternative, there are ice machines throughout the resort, and you can bring zip-top bags to create your own ice packs. These work great in a small cooler - which is also allowed in the theme parks. I just always double bag the ice to prevent leakage. If you are trying to cool something on the smaller size, like medication, you can look into something like a Frio cooling pouch. They work great for things like insulin and small vials of medication.

    Enjoy an incredible stay, Mary!
