Christmas on Main Street

My dad wants to use his military discount to buy Mickeys very merry christmas party tickets for his family but doesn't want to attend. Can he buy just the tickets for his family even if he doesn't attend?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, AnaMaria! Please tell your Dad thank you for his service; it’s something I am very grateful for! And I’m happy to hEAR that you know all about the Military Ticket Discounts available to for both Park passes and special parties like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Sadly, it is an official rule that the military member that purchases the tickets must be one of the ticket users. Perhaps he can go to the parks with you during the day and help pass on the savings via Park Hopper Passes, the military discount of Memory Maker or the military special offer available for select Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms! My brother, who serves in the USCG, tells me he feels like a kid again when we visit the parks together, and I know he is very happy to receive savings on these items during his vacation. It makes his budget stretch much farther.

And if your Dad would like to participate in Magic Kingdom’s flag retreat, tell him to don a ball cap with his service branch on it during the park opening, or to visit City Hall at Magic Kingdom to ask about the flag retreat. It’s a beautiful flag ceremony at the end of the day that will make you all feel very proud. I hope everyone in your family enjoys your upcoming vacation, and what’s more, I hope you enjoy all the Main Street, U.S.A. snow! ~ Lindsey P.
