Hi Moms & Dad! Visting in Jan for the 3rd time in less than a year (w/DD-7). We have pretty much conquered all the big attractions in the parks and want to find some new things to do - any suggestions of fun things to do that sometimes get missed?

    Stephanie:

Like your family, ours has been several times lately, and we're always looking for the latest and greatest.  On our last trip, we set out to enjoy some of the hidden treasures of the parks.  Here's what we enjoyed:

Epcot: Innoventions houses many hands-on activities for the entire family.  Our famiily's favorite was the Sum of All Thrills, a simulated ride that you create!  Don't let the name scare you, though.  You can choose several options from a jetplane to a bobsled to enjoy.  Best of all, YOU determine how fast and furious your ride will be.  Other favorites in the building were the Segway lessons (for adults), the Piggy Bank Race and my 5-year-old's highlight, a game explaining waste management.

Magic Kingdom:  Pixie Hollow welcomes visitors to meet Tinkerbell along with some of her friends.  Disney's newest Princess Tiana can be found among the jazz band celebrating on her Showboat Jubilee.  Lastly, make sure you catch the updated Hall of President's with President Obama.

Disney's Hollywood Studios:  Get creative with the new broom art near Mickey's Sorcerer's hat.  Our son enjoyed "drawing" with the broom and water.  I'm always amazed at what my children seek out and remember.  We spent almost 30 minutes allowing him to "draw," and for him, it was a trip favorite.

Animal Kingdom:  In the past, our family has been so focused on riding the attractions, we skipped the animal trails right off the Kilimanjaro Safaris.  This past trip, we stopped and took the time to explore!  Our two elementary-age boys were fascinated not only by the gorillas but the bugs and other creepy crawlies housed in the scientist's "lab."  Other off-the-path places are the dinosaur dig and slides near Dinoland, the overlooked show "Flights of Wonder," and the drums in Africa.

Wishing y'all a magical vacation with lots of new adventures!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
