Hi moms and dad! We are taking our boys (3 and 1) on their first trip to DW Dec. 1-7th. SO EXCITED! Everything is planned but now I am wondering if we should go to MVMCP? 7pm is normally when my boys go to sleep. Has anyone else brought kids this young?

    Angela,

My daughters are 5, 3, and 1 and while we don't usually travel during Christmas, we do attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party every year which is a similar event.  At home their usual bedtime is 7:30, but we throw that out the window on vacation.  My girls are very adaptable, and this has never been a problem for us.  On the day of the party we compensate by having a leisurely morning and an afternoon nap.  Since we're out until midnight that night, we sleep late the next morning as well.

Only you can know if this would work for your kids.  Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a great event, very festive and fun, and I think it's very worth seeing.  But it would be no fun at all if the kids were exhausted and grouchy.

It's worth noting that while Disney currently allows MVMCP ticket holders to enter the Magic Kingdom at 4 pm, the actual party events do not begin until 7 pm.  You may read elsewhere that you can enter the park earlier that day, which is true, but the party itself still won't begin until 7, so you're not gaining party access, just park access.

    Good luck!
