My dad recently beat cancer this year and we are extremely proud of him! Does WDW have a way to celebrate/acknowledge his achievement? We will also be celebrating my parents 47th wedding anniversary too. Any suggestions on both would be appreciated!

    Hi Dawn,

Your family has so much to celebrate, and Walt Disney World is a great place to do so!

I suggest that you pick up free celebration buttons at Guest Relations at any of the Disney theme parks. These buttons are available for a variety of occasions. For your parents' anniversary, they could pick up either "Happily ever after" or "Happy anniversary" buttons. For your father's health, he could get an "I'm celebrating" button. These buttons have space underneath to write in the celebration, so he could write in "beating cancer" or "my health!" It is also fun if the rest of your family gets these buttons, and you could write in "my father's health." When you wear these buttons, you will hear cast members and guests alike wishing your parents a happy anniversary and congratulating your father on his health. Also, sometimes a cast member may sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your day, like surprising you with a free cupcake. Although you should never expect this extra magic, it is really fun when it does happen.

I also suggest that you look into Disney Floral and Gifts. They can help you to customize gifts for any celebration. There are gifts for anniversaries that can be personalized. For you father, you might consider the My Magical Triumph in-room celebration, which can be customized to celebrate his health triumph. Once you have perused the website, I suggest that you call them at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438) to work with a Dream Maker who will help you to customize the right gift for your occasions and price range.

I hope that this gives you some ideas for celebrating, Dawn. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions as you plan your magical vacation.
