Hi Cute Moms! 6 days and counting until our trip to Disneyland! I am looking for some "off the beaten path" ideas to do with my 2 year old son while my husband and older son (celebrating his 5th birthday) ride the bigger thrill rides. Any suggest

    Hi, Sara!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for visiting us with your great question. I bet your whole family is excited to visit The Happiest Place on Earth!

Think about paying a visit to the Silhouette Studio on Main Street, U.S.A. to have your son’s 2-year-old profile captured forever by one of the talented artists. It only takes about 60 seconds and is a priceless keepsake. I took my son there for the first time when he was 2, and it was such a special experience that we plan to make it an annual family tradition!

If your little one needs to burn off some energy, Goofy’s Playhouse in Mickey’s Toontown invites kids of all ages to play and explore in a safe, contained area. There’s also a shady rest area right in front so you can have a seat and watch your son play.

At the water play area at Disney California Adventure Park called Princess Dot Puddle Park, fountains, sprinklers and misters provide lots of cool fun on warm California days. I have visited it many times with my 3-year-old son, and he always has a ball! While there isn’t a similar water play area at Disneyland Park, there are lots of attractions that provide an escape from the sun and can be experienced by Guests of all ages. A few of my favorites are Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s a small world, and the Enchanted Tiki Room!

This would also be a great time to snap some pictures of your little one exploring some of the park's off the beaten path locations, like Snow White Grotto—this quiet treasure on the side of Sleeping Beauty Castle includes statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and a cascading waterfall. There is an adorable bridge with etched wooden hearts leading to a wishing well.

I hope this helps, Sara. Please feel free to write back with more questions!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
