I currently have res at GF, Garden View. Is it worth to upgrade to Lagoon or Theme Park view? What about Lodge Tower rooms? What are the benefits of that room? Thanks!

    Hello, Lauren,

Nearly all of the Grand Floridian garden view rooms are quite lovely and enjoyable.  However, if you really have your heart set at looking out at the lagoon, specifically the fireworks, it is the only way to guarantee those views by booking them.

When we stayed at the Grand Floridian when our children were younger, I liked having the theme park view because my guys just couldn't stay up that late, so we'd get back to the room and watch the fireworks from our balcony in our pjs.  Now, though, my kids are much older and night-owls.  To pay for the more costly view wouldn't be worth it since we aren't in our rooms much.

The Lodge Tower rooms are within the main building of the Grand Floridian, which has some trade-offs.  First, you are in the heart of the resort with all the activity, but you may risk more noises sneaking into your room.  However, the rooms/doors are quite sound-proof, so it shouldn't be too bad. With being in the main building, you are that much closer to dining and the monorail and also under one roof in case of inclement weather.  You will also be a Club Level room with all the perks of concierge service.

It may help you to read about the specific offerings for each of the room types, too, especially the perks of the Club Level rooms.  I'm not sure when you are staying at the resort, but there are some renovations going on throughout the resort. If you do an internet search for Grand Floridian renovations 2012, you should be able to find an article or two about them.

Thank you for the question and enjoy the Grand Floridian!
