We currently have Cruise reservations for Nov. 2012 However, my son is in the HS band n They will go to Macys during Thanksgiving Next year. I am moving our cruise back to May 2012, BUT we will be on Disney Magic instead Dream. Difference?? disappointed?

Ashley...we are living parallel lives! This year, my daughter and her high school band are marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and we'll be sailing on the Disney Magic on a slightly post-poned cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.  Funny, huh?

Anyway...back to the issue at hand. I get slightly disappointed about comparing the four ships of Disney Cruise Line(DCL) -- I firmly think and believe that each ship is a gem all her own!  I often liken them to my four children, and I appreciate each one (ships and children) for their advantages and unique personalities. For the Disney Dream, the Imagineers took what was great about her predecessors and amped up the "Wow!" factor. Yet, you have to remember that the Disney Magic was DCL's first pixie-dusted vessel which set the standard in family cruising for the entire cruise industry.  She is a magnificent ship -- classy, elegant and brimming with amenities, service, entertainment and cuisine which will rival any ship on the seas.

Although the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are approximately 40% larger than the Disney Magic and Disney Dream -- there are distinct advantages. Don't get me wrong...I love sailing on the Disney Dream and am waiting (quite impatiently) for the Disney Fantasy to debut next spring. However, I love the intimacy of the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder -- especially in the cruise terminal, at Castaway Cay and at ports of call. In addition, my family and I can easily meet up for certain activities and events, go about our schedules separately and meet again for more family time. Plus, I'm more likely to "accidentally" witness my teens from a distance enjoying themselves with new found friends...or (gasp)....with their siblings!

I hope I've given you a little insight and encouragement as to why you shouldn't question any DCL ship -- they will ALL blow your socks off! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
