Hi there, Just curious if anyone knows how Disney Dining Plan will work with new Magic bands? I think I understand the whole fastpass+ part and the hotel reservations etc but do you just scan your band when buying snacks on the dining plan? Thanks x

Hello Karen!  I just returned from Walt Disney World and was lucky enough to be staying at a resort that was testing the new Magic Bands.  We loved the ease and convenience of using them for entering the parks, opening the door to our room, and even paying for all of our purchases in shops or restaurants! Your Disney Dining Plan will be linked to your Magic Band, and it will be as simple as touching your Magic Band against the sensor pad, and entering the pin number which you will have chosen!  It will keep track of your allotted Dining Plan credits, so no worries!

Be sure to make an account on My Disney Experience so you will have the option of customizing your Magic Bands for each member of your family.  If you live in the United States or Puerto Rico they will be shipped direct to your home before your vacation, and if you live elsewhere, you will pick them up at check-in at your Walt Disney World resort.

I hope this information helps to clarify how the Magic Band will work with the Disney Dining Plan.  Please write me back if you have any additional questions I could help you with - it would be my pleasure!  Have a magical day Karen!
