Cruising out of Galveston in Feb. Our plane will land the day before, so we are going to be staying in Galveston the night before. The question is what is the best way to get a family of 5 from the IAH airport to a hotel near the port in Galveston?

    Ahoy Nicole!
I love to hear you are setting sail for a Caribbean adventure from one of Disney's newest home ports, Galveston!  I have a couple of suggestions of what to do about your pre-cruise stay and transportation.  Disney Cruise Line has made arrangements with the Hotel Galvez & Spa which is located about a mile from the port.  For $60 per person, you can purchase round-trip ground transfers that will include a shuttle to the hotel, a shuttle to the port, and a shuttle back to the airport after you disembark the ship. When you arrive at Hotel Galvez & Spa, you will check in with the DCL Hospitality Desk to select your shuttle time for the morning of your departure.  If this option works for your family, you will want to give Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 to book your pre-cruise stay.
Another option is to visit www.fly2houston.com and check out the ground transportation options from the airport to hotels near the Port of Galveston.  It looks like there is a SuperShuttle as well as Limo services that would work for your family of five.  Many hotels in the Galveston area will have a hotel to port shuttle that you can use on the morning of your sailing.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel with your cruise questions, Nicole!  I hope you will stop back by if you have any other questions before your magical voyage begins!
    Have a wonderful day!
