Hello! Cruising with my family in May from Port Canaveral. We have a return international flight at 12:45 so it's going to be a little bit of a rush. Should we take the Magical Express to get to the airport or rent a personal drive? We have two babies

Welcome aboard, Joanne! It's only a couple more months until you set sail with Disney Cruise Line, and your family must be getting very excited!

Disney Cruise Line recommends that guests using their ground transfers from Port Canaveral to the Orlando International Airport have flights leaving no earlier than 11:30 a.m. Since you're flying out at 12:45 p.m. you should be fine. Though, since you are flying internationally, I would suggest that you plan to head off the ship as early as possible that day to ensure you're on the first or second motorcoach that departs.

That morning, if you've had the first dinner seating, you'll be assigned to eat breakfast at 6:45 a.m. Guests with the second dinner seating will have a breakfast time that last morning of 8:00 a.m. However, you are always welcome to skip that and just swing by Cabanas buffet to grab a quick bite on your own time. By about 7:30 a.m., the ship is usually cleared for guests to disembark. Normally, the first guests to leave are those using express check-out, carrying all of their own luggage off the ship. Then, the rest of the guests begin to leave and pick up their luggage (that they've left out the night before) in the warehouse area before heading through customs. You'll then climb aboard the motorcoach to take you about an hour to the airport. I would feel secure with a flight time of 12:45. They take care of all of the details which really makes it an easy transition from sea back to land. Also, since you have two babies, if you hire private transportation, you'd have to hassle with car seats, which just adds an extra thing to worry about. On the Disney motorcoach, your little ones will simply sit on your lap and enjoy the Disney cartoons as you travel to the airport.

Be sure to call Disney Cruise Line at 800-951-3532 (or your travel agent) to add this transfer onto your reservation. There is a cost of $35 per person each way.

    Have fun planning, Joanne!
