We will be cruising on August 16 on the Disney Dream and I’m so confused regarding the alcohol policy. Can you bring unopened wine from the airport on a carry on and also can you put water bottles in your checked luggage

    Hi there, Ebony!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Wahoo!!  Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is coming up soon…. you must be so very excited!  Now is the time to start reviewing those packing lists to ensure you have everything you need for your adventure on the high seas!  I also recommend reviewing the prohibited items list – just so you won't run into any problems when you arrive at Port Canaveral for embarkation.

I am glad you sailed by with your question and hopefully I can help clear up any confusion you have before your vacation gets here.  Disney Cruise Line's alcohol policy allows each Guest 21 years or older to bring onboard up to 2 bottles of wine (750ml MAX each bottle) OR 6 bottles of beer (12 oz MAX each bottle) at embarkation and at any port of call.  Alcohol must be unopened and part of your carry-on luggage.  So, essentially this means that if you have two adults in your travel party you can bring up to 4 bottles of wine OR 12 bottles of beer.  If you plan on enjoying wine in your stateroom, don't forget a corkscrew!  If you plan to take a bottle of wine to enjoy in the main dining room during dinner service, please be aware that there is a $25 corking fee (prices subject to change without notice).  But there is no fee to enjoy it in your stateroom!  Guests can also bring water bottles with them onboard and these, too, need to be in your carry-on luggage and NOT in checked baggage.

If bringing onboard wine and/or water is not convenient for you, they do sell wine packages as well as water bottle packages onboard – or you can simply purchase wine by the glass and water bottles individually.  There is also a 24-hour drink station that has water available if you would like to refill a tumbler or water bottle onboard.

Hopefully this information is helpful for you, Ebony!  If you have any further questions, please come back!  Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure with Captain Mickey!

    Happy Sailing!
