    Shani from IL Asked

We're going on a cruise and are going to try to book a second cruise on the ship if the itinerary I want is available and I want to know if I book two rooms, but need to cancel one of them, can I do that?

    Ahoy, Shani!

I love the way you are already planning to book a future cruise while onboard your upcoming voyage. I'm always so sad when the cruise is over, but having another vacation with Mickey in place is the only way I can cope! I always make sure to visit the Disney Vacation Planning Desk early as it does get quite busy as the days go on. There's even a way to join the queue from the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so you can enjoy other activities as you wait.

When you visit the Disney Vacation Planning Desk, you can reserve two staterooms as long as one adult from your party is on each reservation. You can also cancel one of those reservations and receive your deposit back as long as it's before the Paid in Full date, which is usually between 90 and 120 days before your cruise. (This will be listed on your cruise reservation so you may want to set a reminder just in case.) The only other exception to this policy is for Concierge-Level staterooms. These suites cannot be canceled, but you can move the date if there's availability. To cancel a regular stateroom for a refund, you'll have to call Disney Cruise Line directly at (800) 951-3532 or have your authorized Disney Vacation Planner cancel for you.

Shani, there are a few perks to booking a future sailing while onboard, including a 10 percent discount on your cruise fare, a deposit of 10 percent (instead of 20) and an onboard credit to use on your future cruise. Some dates are blocked out to these discounts, so you'll want to inquire when you book your sailing. If the itinerary you are hoping for has not been released, Disney Cruise Line offers a Placeholder that is valid for up to 24 months from your booking date. So it's a win, win when it comes to options for future sailings with Mickey and the gang.

Thank you for visiting us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We hope you'll cruise back by with any other questions you may have about your magical journey with Disney Cruise Line.
