We are cruise "newbies" as we've never been on any type of cruise before. Excited about trying something new so booked 7 night Fantasy (Eastern) in September to take break from WDW. Are there lines/crowds on the ship for food/activities etc like

Congratulations Kari!  Embarking on your first cruise is such an exciting time, and the Fantasy is an incredible ship to begin your adventures on the high seas!  With this being your first time, I have to warn you that cruising can be addictive so you might be booking your second sailing before your Fantasy cruise is even over!
You will find some lines onboard for character "meet & greet" opportunities, but they will be much shorter than what you experience in the parks. And with a seven-night sailing, you will be very pleased with the number of character opportunities offered.  Other than that, the lines for food and disembarking the boat in the ports of call are not long at all and again much more manageable than what you find when you visit WDW.  The most crowded times of your sailing will be the Sail Away Party, Pirate activities including the Buccaneer Blast Firework Show, and the pool deck during the afternoon of your sea days. But, with the long list of activities for all ages, there will many times you won't even realize you are cruising on 128,000 ton vessel!  Disney Cruise Line makes sure every Guest has a unique experience with their impeccable, personalized service!  It is one of many reasons my family continues to sail with Captain Mickey and his seafaring crew!
Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel with your cruise questions!  Please keep me posted on any other questions you may have before your September "Fantasy" begins!
    Have a magical day!
