Hello, we are going on our 2nd cruise on July 2nd 2018. Going to Alaska and are trying to decide on which dog sled to do. Which is better the Mendenhall glacier in Juneau or the Denver glacier in Skagway? This is once in a lifetime. Thanks.

    Ahoy, Tammy!

It's so wonderful welcoming you back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on becoming a Silver Castaway Club member! This means you will be able to book your phenomenal Port Adventures 90 days prior to setting sail. We took a Disney Cruise to Alaska this past July and it was extraordinary! You are absolutely right to start planning early!

Both the Mendenhall Glacier and Denver Glacier are magnificent! In my opinion, you will get a once in a lifetime experience dog sledding on either the Dog Sledding and Glacier Flightseeing in Skagway, or Dog Sledding on the Mendenhall Glacier by Helicopter in Juneau. You won't be disappointed with either! When faced with two similar excursions in two different ports of call, I always look to see if there is another excursion that piques my interest at either port of call; usually there are several! Ha! This process helps to make the decision for me. For example, my family really wanted to take the Yukon Suspension Bridge, City and White Pass Railway excursion in Skagway. Knowing we had an exciting adventure planned in Skagway made choosing an excursion exploring the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau an easy decision!

Tammy, I know how huge of a trip sailing to Alaska is! You might have more questions as you continue planning, so please don't hesitate to stop back and visit us again!
