We have a cruise booked for July 17,and would like info on cancellation policy. Thanks so very much

    Hi Frank!

So glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Based on your sail dates, it looks like you will be cruising this summer on the Disney Dream. Sounds like the perfect weekend getaway! Of course, any time I can get marooned on Castaway Cay for a day is fine by me.

I'm like Ellie from the movie "Up" in wanting to travel and see the world, so naturally I want everyone to be able to do the same! Hopefully this is just a hypothetical question and that you will not need to consider cancelling your cruise. But just for kicks and giggles, let's run the numbers. Currently, one to five night sailings require a payment in full at least 90 days prior to departure. By my calculations, you have not yet had to make your final payment in full, so you have up until that date to cancel without any fees.

After that, the cancellation policy posted on the Disney Cruise Line website would apply to your itinerary and is driven by the length of cruise and stateroom category. You would calculate how far out you are from your sailing date and then check out the applicable cancellation fee. For these reasons, I like to purchase either the Vacation Protection Plan through Disney Cruise Line or a third party travel insurance company. Lastly, keep in mind that reservations with special restrictions ("Guarantee with Restrictions") are totally nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Sending you pixie dust that you will be able to set sail on the high seas with Captain Mickey and crew. Or as Ellie would say, "Adventure is out there...now go have a new one!" As always, if you find yourself in need of additional help, feel free to ask us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    SEA ya real soon!
