What are the crowds actually like in Disneyland (California) the last two weeks of August. Some crowd calendar sites say it's packed and others say it's a quiet time to go. We've always gone end of April or September but never in summer.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Nicole!

It sounds like you are planning an adventure at the Disneyland Resort this summer! How exciting! With so many extraordinary offerings at the parks, the Disneyland Resort remains a popular destination year-round. While the last two weeks of August could see decreasing crowds since a lot of children head back to school earlier in the month, the approaching Labor Day holiday could pull some travelers in for the last taste of summer. So, it’s a little difficult to gauge. What I can tell you is that typically weekdays are less busy than weekends and if you start each day early, you can get so much done no matter the crowd levels. Depending on the length of your visit and where you plan to stay, you could have early admission options available to you. In my experience, Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning are invaluable in terms of riding the most attractions with the least of amount of waiting.

You might also consider upgrading to the Disney MaxPass to maximize your time. Being able to make FASTPASS selections on your mobile device from anywhere in the parks is an incredible time-saver. On my last visit, I was able to ride nearly all the thrill attractions before lunch time using MaxPass. Plus, my feet really liked not having to walk to each FASTPASS kiosk! Finally, when I find that crowds are a little heavier than what I was expecting, I like to go see a show like Mickey and the Magical Map or Frozen – Live at the Hyperion, or I sit down with a refreshing Dole Whip and take in the views and a little people-watching.

I hope your upcoming trip is full of magic and memories!
