Am I crazy for wanting to take my 23 month old twins to Disney world? We will be staying with our friends DVC points, so the stay is free. My husband and I went once and fell in love with it! We would love to take the boys, just not sure if at this age?

    Hi Amy,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I absolutely do not think that you are crazy for considering taking your 23-month-old twins to Walt Disney World! In fact, I think that you should go for it! Since you and your husband already know that you enjoy Walt Disney World, I bet your kids will, too. I really think that a large part of how much my daughter loves Walt Disney World is because she feels how much my husband and I do, too.

There is so much to do for all ages at Walt Disney World. We took my daughter often when she was very young. In the toddler stage, she enjoyed attractions such as it's a small world at Magic Kingdom, Journey into Imagination with Figment at Epcot, Disney Junior - Live on Stage! at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Rafiki's Planet Watch at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

In order to have a successful trip with little ones, I suggest maintaining a semblance of their typical daily schedule. If your children nap, I would take them back to the resort to rest in the afternoon. Otherwise, children tend to get very cranky in the afternoons and this can lead to meltdowns. You can also make use of the Baby Care Centers at each Disney theme park. These centers have high chairs, large changing tables, and generally calm areas for your children to eat and relax.

Being able to stay at a Disney Vacation Club resort for your stay is fabulous. Disney Vacation Club accommodations are spacious and include many of the comforts of home. In a deluxe studio, you will have a kitchenette. On one-bedroom and larger villas, you will have a full kitchen, as well as laundry inside your villa. With two toddlers, I am sure that laundry will come in handy!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Amy. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
