    Linda from NY Asked

I have a couple questions. I have a son who will be 3 the end of November. What is the best age for children to enjoy Disney. I have been dying to come and my husband really wants to wait until my son gets older. Is is to much for a 3 1/2 year old?

Hi Linda! We get this question often and it is so hard to answer.  My first reaction is to ask yourself what memory at what age is better then the others?  Each age will bring something more special then the others.  Your son's first character experience will likely bring tears to your eyes.  I have a grandson the same age and he has been coming since he was three months old and I love the memories from each trip.  Jumping up and down with Tigger when he was two is unforgettable!  I can't wait to bring him back in December to see the new things he will enjoy and experience.

The best advice to parents bringing young children is to schedule yourself according to their needs and not yours.  Take breaks from the parks and have nap times in the itinerary.  Reserve dining at places that are quick and entertaining since their patience is slim.  Every year after as he grows up you can add new experiences to your list.  I never encourage families to try to "do it all" when the kids are young....that will come later!
