Family on Big Thunder Mountain

    Leah from FL Asked

Hi, I have a couple of questions regarding Magic Kingdom (first-timer!)... if we are on one side of the park, is there transport to an area further away? Or is that for resort transport only? Also, how many people can fit in one honey pot on the Pooh ride?

Thanks for bringing another question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Leah!

Of course I love all of the Theme Parks and Water Parks that are a part of Walt Disney World Resort, but I must admit that Magic Kingdom Park is my favorite. You will love it!

With 107 acres of fun, you will definitely get in your steps for the day. I like to strategize my family’s FastPass+ reservations to take advantage of the natural flow of the Park to help maximize our time and minimize our walking. Depending on the day, sometimes we like to begin in Tomorrowland and then make our way into Fantasyland, then to the area near the Haunted Mansion, through Liberty Square and Frontierland and then around through Adventureland to eventually make our way back to the central “hub” and Main Street, U.S.A. Typically, the Walt Disney World Resort Railroad makes stops in Frontierland and Fantasyland in addition to the Train Station on Main Street, U.S.A., but it is currently closed while the new Tron attraction is being built in Tomorrowland. Currently your only transportation options within Magic Kingdom Park are the Main Street Vehicles (which run intermittently down Main Street, U.S.A. and into the central hub in front of Cinderella Castle). Take a look at the Magic Kingdom Guide Map online to get a feel for the lay of the land and to help you as you plan your FastPass+ reservations for the day.

As for the hunny pots in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, my husband, 10-year-old daughter and I fit comfortably into one. My fellow Panelist Ashley has given you an excellent breakdown of the other attractions you’ll be able to enjoy together, too.

Outside of Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll find complimentary Resort Transportation options for visiting the other Theme Parks as well as the Water Parks and Disney Springs. The only other transportation option within a Park is at Epcot, where you’ll find the “Friendship” boats that will ferry you from one side of the World Showcase Lagoon to the other. Otherwise, you’ll need to rely on foot power to get you around inside each of the other Theme Parks.

Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer to help make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation an easier one,  Leah! We’re always happy to help.
