Ohanas Best Friend Breakfast

We have a couple of days where we are spending the day in Magic Kingdom but eating a meal at ‘Ohana. I know it varies greatly, but can you estimate how long it will take to get from MK to ‘Ohana during a non-peak time of the day? Even a range is helpful.

Hey there, Anne. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

It sounds like you have a great itinerary going on while you are at Walt Disney World. I love to take a break from the parks midday for a swim break and a great meal and then head back in the evenings. 'Ohana is such a great choice especially when you'll be at Magic Kingdom Park. It's a fantastic place to eat plus it's really easy to get to.

From Magic Kingdom Park you have a couple of options on how to get to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. My preferred travel method is always the monorail. I think mostly because my daughter loves it so much, it's almost like a ride in and of itself. From Magic Kingdom Park you'll hop on the resort loop monorail line. It will make 2 stops at Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center before arriving at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The monorail ride itself is about 10-15 minutes. I'd try to leave Magic Kingdom Park about 45 minutes prior to your dining reservation. You can also take the water taxi from Magic Kingdom Park to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The boat will make a brief stop at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa before continuing on to your destination. The boat ride takes a little bit longer, you are looking at more of a 20 minute travel time.

If you arrive early for your dining reservation at 'Ohana. I highly suggest grabbing a seat at the Tambu Lounge while you wait. It's one of my favorite spots to relax at Walt Disney World. This lounge is child friendly and my daughter raves about their Shirley Temples! If you care to enjoy a cocktail, the Lapu Lapu is a must. It's fruity, refreshing and served up in a hollowed out pineapple. It doesn't get anymore Polynesian than that.

I hope this helps give you a travel timeframe for your upcoming vacation. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.  Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
