I have convinced my husband to stay on property. Normally get hotels for free off property. I am thinking AKL but not for sure. have two kids 4 & 8. Please any suggestions?

    Hi Amanda!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

Having stayed both on, and off-property, I would now always prefer to stay on-property at Walt Disney World.  It really does immerse you in all the magic, and makes everything more convenient, especially if you wish to return to your hotel during the day, it's all at hand.  There are more than 20 Resort hotels to choose from, to suit your taste and budget.

You also have other benefits to consider: if you are flying into Orlando International Airport you are provided with free transportation to your resort, on Disney's Magical Express, and while you are staying there, you have full use of the Disney Transportation to travel around Walt Disney World (buses, monorails and boats).  You can also make use of Extra Magic Hours where you can enter the park for an hour before it opens to other guests, and stay at the park for a few hours after it has closed - these hours are only available on select days at select parks.  While you are in the parks you can make your purchases and have them delivered back to your resort hotel, free of charge, so you do not have to carry everything around with you all day.  Full details of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel are here.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort is a wonderful place to stay, and I am sure your family will love it there.  You have stunning architecture and the unique aspect of the animals right on your doorstep!  You are also very close to the Animal Kingdom park.

If you have any other questions about which Resort hotel to choose, please come back and send me a direct question with more details about what your family would enjoy, or which theme park you would like to be closest to - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
