I am contemplating a last-minute trip next week with two kids - 5 and 11! I was thinking Wednesday through Saturday, but when do the Memorial Day crowds arrive and how bad are they (my comparison would be our last trip in early December during Pop Warner).

Hi, Jennifer!  I know that some schools give a nice four day weekend, which means that some folks will head down there on Thursday and stay through Monday - my own family included!  Crowds over the weekend can get pretty heavy, even when compared to Pop Warner crowds.  The heavier crowds are likely to be on Saturday and Sunday, but they tend to build through the day on Friday.

There are some tips I use to try and beat the crowds.  The first thing I like to do is check out touringplans.com to see which park they recommend as the best one for the day.  I find it does help me plan a less stressful day.  Use Fast Passes wherever you can, and if you can, before you head to a ride where your Fast Pass window has opened up, grab a pass for something else, so you'll always have one on deck.  If the parades and fireworks are not terribly important, you can find some shorter lines during these events.

If you decide to go, I hope you'll have a wonderful time!
