Considering going to WDW for the first time ever next month, less than 30 days out. I've heard you have to make reservations so early for things like character experiences. Is it even worth it at this point? Don't want to let kiddos down.

    Dear Heather,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about last-minute planning!

I can confidently say that you will have an amazing and totally magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation even when planning at a closer date! You will definitely not be disappointed. Some restaurants will be fully booked at this point, but there are plenty that won't be, such as most Quick-Service restaurants (of which the majority do not accept Advanced Dining Reservations). You can take a look online even before booking your hotel reservation to see if some of your desired restaurants have space.

Once you book your resort hotel reservation, if you are in the 60-day window, you can immediately book up to three FastPass+ experiences per day for your family. Even at this point, you will probably see that there are many attractions that have plenty of FastPass+ opportunities available to you. For some of the most popular attractions, keep checking your My Disney Experience app, because things do open up. Also, keep in mind that you will be able to stand in line for those attractions for which there are no available FastPass+ spots at this time.

Most character experiences can be visited using either a FastPass+ or by waiting in the lines. I'd love to give you a tip for that - if your children have a character that they really don't want to miss, check the schedule for their times and if they are available early in the day, make your way directly to them. Early rising will be your best strategy while you are at Walt Disney World Resort!

    Have a pixie-dusted time!
