I am considering taking my family for the first time ever to Disney. I have 3 kids ages 6,10 and 13. Where should we stay? On or off site? What do all the packages and tickets mean? It's so confusing! Thanks in advance!

    Hi Tami,

You are in the right place if you need some help planning your Walt Disney World vacation! You may ask as many questions as you like and we are thrilled when we have "repeat customers".

First you should start out with a budget and time of year you would like to visit. I definitely recommend purchasing a vacation package and staying at a Disney owned Resort hotel. This will simplify your vacation and you will be able to just show up and enjoy the MAGIC. I usually let my budget determine which Resort hotel I choose. You can explore pricing through this link for Disney Resort Hotels.

A Magic Your Way Vacation Package With Dining includes Resort hotel accommodations, theme park tickets, and the option of one of the Disney Dining Plans. With the Disney Dining Plan the majority of your food costs are prepaid and you save around 20% over purchasing the same items individually. By selecting the vacation package with all of these items you not only save money, you simplify your vacation. Staying at a Disney Resort hotel enables you to make FastPass+ selections 60 days prior to your vacation, gives you complimentary theme park transportation, as well as includes Magical Express transportation from Orlando International Airport.

For your first visit I recommend selecting the "base" tickets without the Park Hopper feature.  You can always upgrade them later if you like the idea of park hopping.

Have fun beginning the vacation planning process!  Please write back when you are ready to ask your next question and any of us would be happy to help you.
