    Laura from LA Asked

We are considering sailing on the Wonder out of Galveston with our 3 kids, ages 15, 12, and 9 because it is easy driving distance from our house. With our older kids, would we be missing out by not making the drive to Florida to sail on a bigger ship?

    Ahoy Laura –

Hello and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I see that you are “Wonder”ing what ship to pick, and I am happy to help with your dilemma.  Since we are Texan pirates, we have often sailed from Galveston on the Disney Wonder, and my crew always has a great time on this particular ship.  The Wonder is one of the smaller ships, but it still has amazing service from cast members who are working hard to please you, as well as fabulous meals in the Rotational Dining, the Broadway style shows, first run movies in the Buena Vista Theatre, zany fun family activities such as BINGO, Karaoke, deck parties, and game shows.  In addition, your crew will be able to visit all 3 marvelous Youth Clubs including the Oceaneer Club (ages 3-12), Edge (ages 11-14), and Vibe (ages 14-17). These features are found on all of the Disney Cruise Line ships. I have to admit that the Wonder is one of my favorite ships because the smaller size makes it more intimate, and my pirate crew gets the chance to meet many new friends. Also, I love saving money in my treasure chest by not having to purchase airfare to Florida. Laura, your sea pups will have an excellent vacation on any Disney ship, so I encourage you to make your decision based on what fits your family the best.  Please come back to see us if you have more questions and I hope to see you sailing with Disney Cruise Lines soon!
