Hi, we are considering not buying the Disney Dining Plan for the first time. Our son is 3 and not a big eater. What are our options for sharing our meals with him? At quick service restaurants can we ask for an extra plate? What about table service meals?

    Hi, Kristin,
I totally understand this quandary! Thanks for reaching out to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

When you are ordering a Quick Service meal, you can see if the restaurant can offer you an extra plate, it often depends on how busy things are if that's possible. In the past, I have just shared my plate with my kids if we are splitting meals.

When it comes to sharing meals at a Table Service restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort, just work with your waiter or waitress to see what is possible. The only time I know you cannot share plates is when you attend a buffet-style dinner. There is no way for the Cast Members to track how much or how little your family eats. You will have to pay the full price for adult and children meals at a buffet. You can search through all of the Disney Dining options online.

I hope those tips help as you get closer to your unforgettable vacation! Feel free to drop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel anytime. I'll be here to help answer questions!
