Hello - We are considering booking our first Disney Cruise, but are worried about sea sickness. My daughter gets car sick and I get motion sickness, would the ship bother us? We are looking at end of Nov for out of Port Canaveral, will it be warm enough

    Hi, Nicole!
I'm happy to hear you're considering booking your first Disney Cruise! Don't worry - most new cruisers worry about seasickness before setting sail. No one wants to feel woozy and miserable when you're on vacation!

I've only experienced very mild symptoms of seasickness when we've cruised. I take a dose of non-drowsy formula Dramamine as soon as we board, and if I start to feel a bit green in the gills. It works like a charm for me. A fellow cruiser had great luck with Sea-Bands, tight-fitting bracelets that put pressure on certain points in the wrist to help with nausea. I encourage you to talk to your doctor of pharmacist before you travel to discuss options for treating your motion sickness. There are several over the counter and prescription medications to choose from. Many guests find that they don't feel any wooziness at all, and it's smooth sailing from the moment they board the ship!

Stateroom location can make a difference in how much motion you feel when the ship is moving. I suggest you request a cabin on one of the middle decks or lower, and toward the center of the ship (midship). You're more likely to feel the motion on upper decks and on the forward section of the ship. Sometimes looking at the horizon can help you get your sea legs, as well as getting some fresh air. There are plenty of quiet spots on the outer decks where you can relax, breathe and get a nice distant view of the ocean.

I hope this helps ease your fears about seasickness! As for the weather in November, temperatures can vary. That being said, I've heard great trip reports of very nice weather from several fellow cruisers. November rates are excellent and you'll get to experience the magic of Disney Cruise Line's Very Merrytime Cruises!
