What is considered a "snack" on the Disney Dining plan?

Greetings Denise!  I am so glad you've brought your question here to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I consider myself to be an expert snacker while at Walt Disney World.

Snacks on the Disney Dining Plan are considered to be single serving items that are typically right around $5.00 or under.  On the menu board, any item that is considered to be a snack will have a small purple box beside it with the letters DDP inside.  The Walt Disney World website gives a few examples of what is considered a snack like a bottle of coke, a small popcorn or a frozen ice cream bar but your options are so much more!  Here are some yummy ways to use a snack credit:

    • Dole Whip Float at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom. A dole whip float is a soft serve ice cream (I like to get the pineapple and vanilla swirl) topped with pineapple juice.  You need a spoon and a straw to enjoy this delicious treat!
    • Carrot Cake Cookie at the Writer's Stop at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Two moist carrot cake cookies sandwiched together by a huge swirl of cream cheese icing.  I like to enjoy this treat for breakfast.  Who am I kidding? I've been known to get multiple cookies in one day.
    • Epcot has so many great snacks, especially around the World Showcase.  I highly recommend stopping in Karamell-Kuche at the Germany Pavilion for some hot and fresh Caramel Corn.
    • Goofy's Candy Company at Downtown Disney is one of my favorite spots to grab a snack.  They have two big cases full of all kinds of goodies that you can use your credits on.  I love the made to order rice crispy treats, chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick and the s'mores bar.

There are hundreds and hundreds of snacks to choose from at Walt Disney World but hopefully I've given you an idea of some treats to look for while you are on vacation.  If you have any other questions, I'd love to help.  Happy snacking!
