Confused! Have read many mixed reviews on driving vs. WDW transportation. Family of 3 staying at POFR for a week in Sept; will have car; don't mind driving. Only visiting 1 park/day and plan to be at each park before opening. What's most efficient? Thanks

    Hi Cristy,

Well, hmmmm, let me see now.....what can I say without getting myself in trouble with all those people out there that believe you do not need a car in Walt Disney World?  I guess you figured by now that I am one of the moms on the panel that like having my own car for transportation at WDW and I will tell you why.  It is definitely the quicker option I find and I do not like to rely on any form of transportation when I want to get somewhere quickly!  I am not against the Disney transportation (in fact I love taking the monorail and boats for scenic tours in much fun!), but I know how crowded it can be when you are waiting in line with many, many, many other guests who just want to get back to their WDW Resorts after a long day in the parks.  Everyone always seems to leave at the same time and no matter how you cut it....there are always long lines (some move faster than others) but when I am tired it is much easier to get in my own car and drive!  I have used the transportation at Disney and rented vehicles and I really just like having my own ride to wherever I am going.

Seeing as you already have a car and will not need to rent one, I would definitely drive and save some time and you do get the complimentary parking for the Theme Parks when you are a Walt Disney World Resort guest.  That is my take on this situation but I am sure there are many other opinions out there and everyone is different, but I love driving anyways whether it be WDW or not.  My suggestion to you is to do what makes you comfortable and try it one way one day and if it doesn't work for you well then you always have your second option the next day!

    Happy travels!
