    I am confused about the FP+ service. It is offered free of charge to anyone that purchases admission. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of FP if everyone is able to make FP selections?

    Hi Heather -

    FastPass has always been available to all guests free of charge. This aspect of the FastPass+ is no different from the old paper FastPass system. Prior to the introduction of FP+ and guest in the parks could put their admission ticket into the machine and get a paper FP return time.

    With FP+, guests staying at the Walt Disney World resort hotels can make FP+ reservations online (via computer, tablet or smartphone app) up to 60 days in advance. Annual passholders and guests staying at off site properties can make FP+ reservations up to 30 days in advance. This gives WDW hotel guests a little jump on the process.

    The great thing about the new FP+ system is that you can choose the time you want for your reservation (assuming availability). I have teens who love to sleep late, so I'll get my FP for the afternoons. But if you're an early bird, you may want to get your FP+ for the morning. Previously we might have been "competing" for the same paper FP+, but now we are each getting what makes most sense for our needs.
