Hi, I am coming with my 6 year old Daughter & wondered wether it's possible to do the morning/early afternoon at Animal Kingdom then late afternoon into the night at Magical Kingdom? Is all that possible in 1 day? Advice much appreciated thank you

    Hi Yvonne,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations!

Overall, yes, I think that it is possible to head to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the morning, and then have a later afternoon and evening at Magic Kingdom. I very much like this plan, as I find Disney's Animal Kingdom to be lovely first thing in the morning when it is cool and the animals are active. I also enjoy Magic Kingdom at night, when the lights come on and add an enchanting layer to the magic. Do be sure to check the Walt Disney World theme park hours to find out the exact hours for these theme parks on the day that you are planning to do this. Also, be sure that you have the park hopper option on your theme park tickets for this day since you will need that to visit two theme parks.

I think that it really depends on your traveling party, and especially your child, how this plan will work. You know your child best! If your child does best with an early bedtime, you might have some trouble keeping her up late and happy. If your child is used to staying up late, it could work very well. I found when my daughter was younger that if I tried to change her schedule too much, I ended up with a grouchy child for a few days, and that did not make anyone happy! At 6 years of age, we were able to keep her up late once or twice per vacation, so this would work for her. I definitely suggest that if you decide to do this, take a midday break at your resort. If she will nap, that would be great, or you can have her rest and watch a movie in your room to be ready for the evening's fun.

Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Yvonne!
