coming 1st week of dec. at Riverside, royal guest room. I am a little nervous as I love to enjoy the pools, late park hours and long sunny days, (usually come sept) can you give me some reasurance its just as nice in dec as sept, not including holiday info

    Hi Barbara,

December is just different than September even without the holiday magic.

I have regularly vacationed at the Walt Disney World Resorts during the first week in December and the temperature difference is what always amazes me. One year it was in the high 80's during the day. Three years later and I was freezing with more layers than I could imagine.

You will see earlier sunsets so this will move up the time of the fireworks if parks are closing earlier. You will see long days at some parks. Animal Kingdom will close the earliest as the sunset usually determines the park closing time. Epcot will not see a change in hours.

As for swimming, the pools are always heated to 82 degrees. The pools are open and are there for you to enjoy.

I am one for trying new things and I recommend you try Disney in December!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
