We will be coming to WDW over Thanksgiving. My children age range is 16, 13, 10. Where do you recommend we stay and what activities are for the older kids. We have been before about 9 years ago.

    Tracie:

If you're visiting Disney World over Thanksgiving, I would recommend that you first consider the resorts that typically feature special holiday displays. In the lobbies of the Boardwalk Inn and Beach Club sit  edible displays and carousels while the Grand Floridian is home to a life-size gingerbread house. The Contemporary also houses a scene made of gingerbread, and you can buy gingerbread "shingles" to enjoy while you look at the chef's creations. Wilderness Lodge sports a stories-tall Christmas tree and when you pair it with its giant fireplace and cozy lobby seating, it's a solid pick and more budget-friendly than the Deluxe resorts on the monorail or around Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk.

Even though you have children that vary in age, I bet all of them will be old enough to meet the height requirements on almost every attraction at Disney World. It's easier to talk about the attractions that wouldn't suit their ages (Barnstormer or Aladdin in Magic Kingdom, PlayHouse Disney at Disney's Hollywood Studios) than to list the pages of entertainment and attractions for the older two.

I would recommend taking a few moments to visit each park under the Parks & Tickets tab at www.disneyworld.com along with the Things To Do tab on the site to get a glimpse of what's in store.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
