Mom And Son Safari

We are coming to WDW next week with our 5 year old son. What is the best time of day/night to visit downtown disney? Also, where do we go to build/get a lightsaber? This is (oddly enough) the main thing he has been talking about.

Next week is your trip (I'm sooo jealous!) - woohoo!!

I really prefer visiting Downtown Disney in the morning. No matter what time of year I visit WDW, it seems that Downtown Disney is always crazy busy in the evenings and sometimes difficult to see at night (maybe I'm just old).

During the day when the shops first open, I feel much more comfortable taking my time to look and enjoy all the merchandise offered, especially at the World of Disney which is HUGE and easy to get lost in.  We like to shop during the morning and then enjoy lunch at Downtown Disney before heading back to the resort for an afternoon swim.

And of course, your young Padawan will be able to build his light saber at Once Upon a Toy. By the way, did you know they offer JediTraining at Disney's Hollywood Studios? This was a HUGE hit with my sons when they were younger.

    Have a magical trip!
