We are coming to WDW in early April and I was planning on having dinner at Chef Mickeys and then going on the pirate and pals fireworks excursion after. What time do you suggest to make dinner reservations so we have time to enjoy dinner w/out a rush?

Hi, Jennifer!  The time of the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage is going to depend on when the fireworks are scheduled on the evening that you plan to attend.  Prior to the voyage itself, there is a bit of a party at the Contemporary that you won't want to miss, as you will have a chance for photos and delicious snacks with some popular characters.

I always allow an hour for dinner at Chef Mickey's.  That is usually enough time to meet the characters and enjoy our meal without too much of a rush.  Because it's a buffet, you can kind of gauge your time and start to encourage the family to wind things up if you feel like you are running short of time.

Since you will already be in the Contemporary, you won't have much in the way of travel time, but you may want a small break between so you can enjoy the snacks at the party!  Maybe give yourself a half hour or so to browse the shops or enjoy looking around the resort to work up an appetite for the party!

So, if the party starts at 8 o'clock, I'd probably schedule my dinner no later than 6:30.  But do double check what time the party will begin on the night you want to go.  Then allow at least an hour and a half between the time of your reservation and the time of the party.  That should be enough time to squeeze in all the fun!

    Have a great time!
