Coming to wdw 9/24-9/29 w/ 6 & 4 yo boys. staying at boardwalk inn. trying to decide which is best, going to park early, taking mid-day break/swim, and then returning. or just going in morning and staying until 3ish and then heading back for rest of da

    Hi Kari,

It completely depends on your children I think.  My daughter and I are not early risers and we love to go to sleep very late in the evenings, but when we travel to WDW we spend one day where we get up early (yes this is a killer when you're not used to it!), go to the Parks, head back to the Resort mid-day for a rest/swim and then enjoy a nice long and late evening (nighttime at WDW seems to come alive with a whole different feeling from the daytime, I would recommend you don't miss the evenings entertainment).  The following day we may sleep in a little and have an earlier evening planned outside of the Parks and the next day is back to getting up early to hit the Parks again, etc....

It depends on how your family deals with changing time schedules but an early/mid afternoon nap or dip in the pool is always a good thing I have found when visiting WDW (this is also when the sun is at it's hottest during the day, not fun running around the Parks in sweltering heat if you can do it more comfortably later on in the cooler evenings).  Do what is best for you and your little ones, you will soon find a schedule that works for you all so you can enjoy all the magic that surrounds you!

    Best wishes,
